Two magnets are placed at points A and B on a frictionless horizontaltable.Their masses are 10g and 6g respectively. The magnets are released and theymove on the table due to mutual attractionandcollide. When the first magnetreachesa particular point, its speed is found to be 3m/s. Find the speed of the othermagnet at that instant.

Given that,

▪︎Mass of first magnet = 10g

▪︎Mass of second magnet = 6g

Speed of first magnet = 3 m/s

(We need to calculate the speed of another magnet. )

Using conservation of energy,

KINETIC ENERGY = POTENTIAL ENERGY

GmM/r² = 1/2 mv1² 1/2Mv2²

Putting the values in formula,

6.67 × 10^-11 ×10×6/ 12² = 1/2×10×3² × 1/2×6×v2²

From above equation you will definitely get the answer.
