• Ratio of two men's ages = 3 : 4
• Ratio of the men's ages after 10 years = 5 : 6

Let the present ages of the men be 3x and 4x

Also, their ages after 10 years = 3x + 10 and 4x +10 ( i.e., 5x and 6x)

According to the question :

$\implies(3x + 10) +( 4x + 10 )= 5x + 6x$

$\implies3x + 4x + 10 + 10 = 11x$

$\implies7x + 20 = 11x$

$\implies7x - 11x = 20$

$\implies - 4x = 20$

$\implies \therefore \: x = \frac{20}{ - 4} = \underline { - 5}( \: 5 \: \sf{years})$

Therefore :

Present age of one man = 3x = 3 × 5 = 15 years

Present age of another man = 4x = 4 × 5 = 20 years
