Two mirror are placed perprndicular to each other. A ray is incident on the first mirror with angle of incident 60degree. Show the refelected ray from the second mirror. ​

Solution :-

Let θ be the angle between the two mirrors OM1

and OM2

The incident ray is parallel to mirror OM2 and strikes the mirror OM1at an equal incidence angle.

From the given figure above,

∠M1BA=∠OBC=∠M1OM2=θ

Similarly, ∠M2CD=∠BCO=∠M1OM2 =θ

From △OBC,

3θ=180∘

⟹θ= 180/60

⟹θ=60∘

So, reflected ray is parallel to first mirror.
