Step-by-step explanation:

one no. =4x

second no.=5x

subtract by 30

one no.=4x-30

second no.=5x-30

4x-30/5x-30=1/2

by cross multiply

5x-30=8x-60

5x-8x=-60+30

-3x=-30

x=-30/-3

x=10

two numbers are

1st no.=4x=4×10=40

2nd no.=5x=5×10=50

Given :-

Two numbers are in the ratio 4:5 if 30 is subtracted from each of the number, the ratio becomes 1:2

To Find :-

Numbers

Solution :-

Let the ratio be 4x and 5x

4x - 30/5x - 30 = 1/2

2(4x - 30) = 5x - 30

8x - 60 = 5x - 30

8x - 5x = 60 - 30

3x = 30

x = 30/3

x = 10

Numbers are

4x = 4(10) = 40

5x = 5(10) = 50
