Let the two numbers be x and y and the requiere ratio be (x/y).

By question, x/y= 3/5.........(1)

Also (x+5)/(y+5) = 2/3......(2)

From (2), 3(x+5)=2 (y+5)

Or, 3x+15=2y +10

Or,3x-2y=-5......(3)

Now from (1), x=3y/5

Using this in (3) we get

3*(3y/5) -2y= -5

Or,9y-10y= -5*5

Or, -y = -25

Therefore, y = 25.

Now from (1), x=3*25/5 = 15

Therefore ,original number is (x/y) =15/25
