Let two numbers be x and y

Now, Given that x:y = 1:2 also give that
(x+7):(y+7) = 3:5

 \frac{x}{y}  =  \frac{1}{2}

2x = y --------------------(1)

Now,

 \frac{x + 7}{y + 7}  =  \frac{3}{5}

Putting equation 1 in this

 \frac{x + 7}{2x + 7}  =  \frac{3}{5}

5(x + 7) = 3(2x + 7)

5x + 35 = 6x + 21

35 - 21 = 6x - 5x

14 = x ---------------------(Result 1)

Putting result 1 in equation 1

y = 2x = 2(14) = 28

Answer:- one number is 28 and other number is 14. 28 is the greater number.
