Question : Two numbers are in ratio 10:3. If their difference is 35, find the numbers.

Solution :

Let the required numbers be 10x and 3x.

Atq,

 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: 10x - 3x = 35 \\ = > 7x = 35 \\ = > x = \frac{35}{7} \\ = > x = 5

Hence, the required numbers are (10×5) = 50 and (3×5) = 15
