Two numbers are in ratio 8:3.If the sum of the number is 143,find the number

Answer:

suppose ,8=8x

and,3=3x

8x+3x=143

11x=143

x=143/11

x=13

therefore ,8x=8×13=104

and,3x=3×13=39
