Answer:

Let the two numbers be 10x and 11x

Their sum is 168

ATQ

10x + 11x = 168

21x = 168

x =  \dfrac{168}{21}

x = 8

Therefore the numbers will be

10x = 10 × 8 = 80

and , 11x = 11 ×8 = 88

According to Question :-

  • Here in the question it's mentioned that the sum of two numbers Is 168 and these numbers are in ratio of 10:11 . For making the procedure simple we will take a common term called x and multiply it with both the rational terms .

  • 10 × x = 10x
  • 11 × x = 11x

Following the question ; we can write the terms as :

  • 10x + 11x = 168

Simplification : -

  • 21x = 168

  • x = 168/21

  • x = 8

The value of Common term is 8 .

  • 10×8 = 80
  • 11×8 = 88

The two numbers are 80 and 88 .

Verification can be done by :-

  • 80+88 = 168
  • 168 = 168

LHS = RHS !
