Two numbers are in the ratio 2 : 3. If 10 be substracted from the each of them they are into ratio 4 : 7. Find the second number.

second number be3x
2x-10:3x-10=4:7
2x-10/3x-10=4/7
7(2x-10)=4(3x-10)
14x-70=12x-40
14x-12x=-40+70
2x=20
x=20/2
x=10

hence,
first number=2x=2*10=20
second number=3x=3*10=30
