Given

Two numbers are in the ratio 3:4. If 4 is added to

each of the numbers, the ratio becomes 4:5.

To find

Find the product of numbers.

Solution

Let the numbers be 3x and 4x

According to the given condition

If 4 is added to each of the numbers, the ratio becomes 4:5.

→ 3x + 4/4x + 4 = 4/5

→ 5(3x + 4) = 4(4x + 4)

→ 15x + 20 = 16x + 16

→ 15x - 16x = -20 + 16

→ - x = -4

→ x = 4

So, the numbers

3x = 3*4 = 12

4x = 4*4 = 16

Hence, the product of numbers i.e 192
