Ratio of two numbers = 3 : 4

i.e, 3 : 4 = 3 (x) / 4 (x)

If '4' is added to each number in the ratio then,

3x + 4 / 4x + 4 = 4 / 5

(3x + 4) × 5 = (4x + 4) × 4 { cross multiplication}

15x + 20 = 16x + 16

-x = -4

x = 4

So, the numbers are

3(4) / 4(4) => 12 / 16
