ANSWER :

Let ratio be x

A.T.Q.

3x-8/4x-8=2/3

3(3x-8)=2(4x-8)

9x-24=8x-16

9x-8x=16+24

x=40

1 number =3×40=120

2 number =2×40=80

Hope it helps

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the ratio be 'x'

therefore, 3:4 will become 3x/4x.

now, subract 8 so that the ratio becomes 2/3:

it will be 3x-8/4x-8 = 2/3

If you cross multiply, it will be :

3(3x-8)=2(4x-8)

now if you solve this you get:

9x-24=8x-16

take 9x and -16 on opposite side.

-24+16=8x-9x

therefore x = 8.

Now, as per the ratio 3x:4x, the first number will be:

3 x 8 = 24

and the second number will be:

4 x 8 = 32

therfore:

ans = (24,32)

thank you......
