Answer:

Let the common multiple of the terms in the ratio be x.

Therefore, the ratio becomes 3x÷7x

According to the given condition,

3x+4÷7x+4=1/2

2(3x+4)=7x+4

6x+8=7x+4

x+4=8

Therefore,x=8-4

x=4

Therefore, the numbers are,

3x=3×4=12

7x=7×4=28

Given:-

  {\rm \pink{Ratio \: of \: two \: numbers \: = \: 3 \: : \: 7}}

To Find:-

  {\rm \green{The \: numbers.}}

Solution:-

Let the numbers be 3x and 7x

If 4 is added, the numbers are 3x + 4 and 7x + 4

 \therefore According to the question,

  {\rm \red {\bf \frac{3x + 4}{7x + 4 \:}}}   {\rm \red {\bf {=}}}  {\rm \red   {\bf \frac{1}{2}}}

    \bf => \: 2(3x \: + \: 4) \: = \: 1(7x \: + \: 4)

    \bf => \: 6x \: + \: 8 \: = \: 7x \: + \: 4

    \bf => \: 7x \: – \: 6x \: = \: 8 \: – \: 4

    \bf => \: x \: = \: 4

Now, by putting the value of x = 4, we get,

3x = 3 × 4 = 12

7x = 7 × 4 = 28

   {\rm \red{The \: numbers \: are \: 12 \: and \: 28}}    {\rm \blue{[Ans]}}
