So,now subtracting 8 from both gives 12:23
4x-8/7x-8=12/23
23(4x-8)=12(7x-8)
92x-184=84x-96
92x-84x=-96+184
8x=88
x=11
so,put x=11 in 4x and 7x
4*11=44
7*11=77
smaller number is 44
