let ratio be x
so numbers are 5x and 4
9x
by given condition ,
5x + 8 / 9x + 8 = 29 / 49
49 ( 5x + 8 ) = 29 ( 9x + 8 )
245 x + 392 = 261 x + 232
261 x - 245 x = 392 - 232
16 x = 160
x = 10
so smallest number is , 5x = 5 Γ 10
= 50
so numbers are 5x and 4
9x
by given condition ,
5x + 8 / 9x + 8 = 29 / 49
49 ( 5x + 8 ) = 29 ( 9x + 8 )
245 x + 392 = 261 x + 232
261 x - 245 x = 392 - 232
16 x = 160
x = 10
so smallest number is , 5x = 5 Γ 10
= 50
