 Let \: m \: and \: n \: are \: two \: numbers .

 m : n = 2 : 9 \: ( given )

 Let \: m = 2x\: --(1) \: and \: n = 9x \: --(2)

 Difference \:of \: the \: numbers = 14

 \implies 9x - 2x = 14

 \implies 7x = 14

 \implies x = \frac{14}{7}

 \implies x = 2

/* Substitute x = 2 in equations (1) and (2), we get */

 m = 2x \\= 2 \times 2 \\= 4

 n = 9x \\= 9 \times 2 \\= 18

Therefore.,
