Cross multiplying, 5x= 4y
So, x= 4y/5

ATQ, the difference between their cubes is 61.

y³- x³ = 61 ...... (1)

Substitute x= 4y/5 in eq. (1)

y³ - (4y/5)³ = 61
y³ - 64y³/ 125 = 61

Multiply through by 125

125y³ - 64y³ = 7625
61 y³ = 7625
y³ = 7625/ 61
y³= 125
y= ∛125
y= 5

Now y= 5 so x= 4  (Because x= 4y/5)
