Imagine the numbers are x,y

x-y = 5

x²-y²=45

or, (5+y)²-y²=45

or, 25+10y+y²-y²=45

or, 10y =20

or, y= 2

now, x= 5+(2)=7

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The first equation is x - y = 5 ———— 1st equation

Now

AQT

x^2 - y^2 = 45

(x-y)(x+y) = 45

5(x+y) = 45

x+y = 9 ———- 2nd equation

By eliminating 1 and 2 we get

X= -2 and Y= -3

Hope it helped u
