two objects of mass 3.5 kg are moving in the same straight line but in opposite direction. The velocity of each object is 5.5m/s before the collision when they stick together. What will be the velocity of the combined object after collision?

here let m1 = 3.5 kg and m2= 3.5kg
and u1 = 3.5m/s and u2 = 3.5m/s
therefore m1u1+m2u2= m1v1+ m2v2
=> 3.5*5.5+3.5*5.5 = 3.5*v1 + 3.5*v2
= 38.5= 7 *2 v1 ( since v1= v2)
=> v1=v2= 38.5/7 => 5.5m/s
therefore the momentum before collision = momentum after collision
