Two objects of masses 100g and 200g are moving along the same line and direction with velocities of 2m/s and 1m/s. They collide and after collision the first object movies with a velocity of 1.67m/s. Find the velocity of the second object.

Answer:

The initial momentum before collision are equal for both the objects. MV1=MV2=200

The Final momentum after collision will be the same

(After collision) MV1=MV2

100×1.67= 200×V2

167/200=V2

V2=0.835m/sec
