Two parallel chords of a circle lie on the same side of the centre of a circle. If the distance between
the chords is 1 cm and the lengths of the chords are 10 cm and 6 cm, find the radius of the circle.​

di2=r^2-(CI/2) 2

di 2 = r^2-5^2. (i)

di^2 =r^2-25

d2^2 = r^2-9. (2)

subtract (I)-(2)

di^2-d2^2 = 16

di-d2=1. data

di +d2=16

solving 2 di=17

di= 8.5

d2=7.5

radius:

r =v7.5^2+5^2 = 9cm (appr:)

= V72.25 +25=v97.25=9.8cm.
