Two parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 6 cm and 14 cm respectively. If the length of each non parallel side is 5 cm then find the area of the trapezium

Answer:

We know the area of the trapezium=1/2*sum of parallel sides*height

given

         it is isoceles 

         14-6=8cm

          8/2=4cm

           we have one non parallel side that is 5cm

            so h sq=5sq - 4sq

                  h=3cm

so area=1/2*20*3

               =30cmsq
