two parallel straight conductor carrying same current are given. Draw the diagram and draw the pattern of the magnetic field lines around them showing their directions. What is the magnitude of the magnetic field at point X which is equal distance from the conductors? Give justification for your answer.

adithya1062003: Magnetic field directly proportional to current and inversely proportional to distance
adithya1062003: since X is in exactly middle between the conductors and the current is flowing equal in both conductors
adithya1062003: So equal force of attraction is faced on both the sides of the point X.
adithya1062003: So the magnitude of force on point X is ZERO
adithya1062003: Hence justified

Magnetic field is always proportional to the strength of the current and the distance between the conductor and an object.

Hence magnetic field is directly proportional to current and inversely proportional to the distance of the object from the conductor.

Since the point X is equidistant from the two conductors and the current flowing through the two conductors is equal.Hence they have SAME magnetic field.

But,The point X experiences two equal forces from opposite sides by following the Fleming's Left Hand Thumb Rule.

So the point has magnitude ZERO due to equal attraction from both sides..
