use formula CM=m1x1+m2x2÷m1+m2

cm = 1 \times 0 + 2 \times 3  \div 3 \\ cm = 6  \div 3 \\ cm = 2

Now

Let the COM is located at x=x,then

r1=distance of COM from he particles of mass 1kg=x

and

r2 =distance of COM from the particle of the mad 2kg=(3-x)

\implies Using \frac{r1}{r2} = \frac {m2}{m1}

\implies\large \frac{x}{3 - x}  =  \frac{2}{1}

\impliesx=2m
