the sum of the two parts = 8 more than their difference
ie x+y = 8 + (x - y)
on solving the equation
x+y -x +y = 8
2y = 8 => y = 4
so, x = 4/2 = 2
so , 2 numbers are 2 & 4

2+4 = 8 +(4-2)
6 = 8 + 2
