3/5 in27 hr so total it takes 45 hr. let it be A

b take 30 hrs

lcm (45,30)= 90

a=2 b=3

this is the efficiency

both together means 5 efficency

90/5=18 hr

Both the pipes takes 90 hours to empty the tank completely.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of hours taken by A to fill the tank is given by

27\div \dfrac{3}{5}\\\\=27\times \dfrac{5}{3}\\\\=9\times 5\\\\=45

Number of hours taken by B to empty the tank = 30 hours

So, Altogether they need to fill the tank completely.

So, Lcm of 45 and 30 = 90

So, Work done by A = \dfrac{90}{45}=2

Work done by B = \dfrac{90}{30}=3

So, Total time would be

\dfrac{90}{2-3}=\dfrac{90}{-1}=-90\ hours

Hence, both the pipes takes 90 hours to empty the tank completely.
