two pipes a and b can fill a tank in 16 hours and 24 hours respectively and pipe c can empty the tank in 32 hours. if all the pipes are opened alternatively for 1 hour each then find the time taken to fill the tank.

In one hour the water amount for each tap is :

A = 1/16

B = 1/24

C = 1/32

In one hour :

The amount in the tank is :

1/16 + 1/24 - 1/32 = 7/96

1 hour => 7/96

? = 1

96/7 × 1 = 13.71 hrs
