Step-by-step explanation:

total capacity of cistern is

lcm of 10,12,20 that is 60 unit's

first pipe can fill cistern in one hour is 6 unit's

lly second pipe is 5 unit's

both 1+2=11 unit's per hour

third pipe can empty the cistern is 3 unit's per hour

all the pipes are opened simultaneously

6+5-3=8 unit's filled per hour

then total cistern filled in

60/8=7(4/8)

=7(1/2) hour s.
