Two pipes 'x' and 'y' can fill a tank in 24 min and 32 min respectively. if both the pipes are opened together, then after how much time should pipe 'y' be closed so that the tank is full in 18 minutes.

lets suppose water tank capacity is 96 litre
so X= gives 4 litre per minute and Y gives 3 litres per minute.
now to get the tank filled in 18 minute. x will be able to give 18*4 = 72 litre.
ramining 24 litre is to be filled by Y Pipe so 24/3 = 8 minute
after 8 minute it should be closed
