Two plane mirrors are inclined at an angle α to each other. A ray is incident on a mirror at 45°. The value of α for which the ray reflected from the other mirror is parallel to the first mirror is ?

The value of a would be 90°.

Since the angle of incidence and angle of reflection on both the mirrors should be 45° to allow the light rays to be parallel, for this the angle between the two mirrors should be 90°.
