Given:

Two plates are placed at a distance of 0.15 mm apart . The lower plate is fixed while the upper plate having surface area 1.0 m² is pulled at 0.3 mm/s.

To find:

Force and power required to maintain this speed.

Calculation:

Let force required be F ;

 \boxed{ \sf{F =  \eta \times (area) \times  \dfrac{dv}{dz} }}

Putting all the values in SI unit ;

 \sf{ =  > F =  1.5 \times (1) \times  \dfrac{0.3 \times  {10}^{ - 3} }{0.15 \times  {10}^{ - 3} } }

 \sf{ =  > F =  1.5 \times (1) \times  \dfrac{0.30 }{0.15} }

 \sf{ =  > F =  1.5 \times (1) \times  2 }

 \boxed{ \sf{ =  > F =  3 \:  N }}

Now , let power delivered be P ;

 \boxed{ \rm{ \therefore \: P = F \times v}}

\rm{ =  >  \: P = 3 \times 0.3 \times  {10}^{ - 3} }

\rm{ =  >  \: P =  0.9 \times  {10}^{ - 3} }

 \boxed{\rm{ =  >  \: P =  9 \times  {10}^{ - 4}  \: watt}}

Hope It Helps.
