Two plots of land have the same perimeter. One is a square of side 64 m and the other is a
rectangle of length 70 m. Find the breadth of the rectangular plot. Which plot has the
greater area and by how much?

Perimeter of square =4×side

=4×64

=256cm

Perimeter of Rectangle = Perimeter of square

⇒2×(length+breadth)=256

⇒2×(70+breadth)=256

⇒breadth=58cm

Area of square =side×side

=64×64

=4096cm

Area of rectangle = =l×b

=70×48

=3360cm

Area of Square is greater than Area of Rectangle by 736cm
