two poles of height 8m and 4m are perpendicular to the ground if the length of shadow of smaller pole due to sunlight is 6m then how long will be the shadow of the bigger pole at the same time

then AB=4m and AC=6m

Now Let the bigger pole be DE and its shadow be DF

Now, Angle A = Angle D (∵ both are 90 degree)

Angle C = Angle F (∵ Angle of elevation for sun)

So triangle ABC and Triangle DEF are similar,

so,

\frac{AB}{AC} = \frac{DE}{DF}

DF

DE

from here, DF = 12 m
