If the two integers x and y are inversely proportional, their product is constant.

x * y = constant

If x is increased by 20%, then we have

1.2x * y’ = constant

Solving the two equation,

x * y = 1.2x * y’

y’ = y/1.2

y’ = 0.83 * y

There is a 17 percent reduction in y.
