Option A

The number of pairs possible for the numbers, is 2

Solution:

Given that,

Two positive numbers have their hcf as 12 and their product as 6336

Let the numbers be 12x and 12y

Where x and y are co-primes

Find product of numbers

Product = 12x \times 12y\\\\Product = 144xy

Given that, product is 6336

Therefore,

6336 = 144xy\\\\xy = \frac{6336}{144}\\\\xy = 44

Since, x and y are co primes, find two co primes whose product is 44

1 and 44

4 and 11 are such pairs

Thus 2 pairs exist
