Two resistance one of 15 ohm and other of 10 ohm, are connected in parallel.This combination is connected in series with a 24 ohm resistor and a 12v battery. The current in 10 ohm resistor is?

As the resistors of 15 and 10 ohms are connected in parallel, their equivalent resistance will be -

1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2

       = 1/15 + 1/10 = 5/30 = 1/6

Rp = 6 ohms.

This equivalent resistance is in series with 24 ohms resistor. Then, total resistance in the circuit is = 24 + 6 = 30 ohms.

Using the total resistance with the 12 volts,

I = V/R = 12/30 = 0.4 A

Hope it helps!
