Two resistors 3 ohm and 6 ohm are connected in parallel and the combination is connected to a 4 V battery. Calculate the total resistance and the total current in the circuit. Plz answer with proper steps.

Explanation:

for parallel combination of resistance

formula is 1/R = 1/ R1 + 1/R2 + 1/ R3

here R1 = 3 ohm

R2 = 6 ohm

hence total resistance = 1/3 +1/6

1/R = 2+1/6 = 3/6 =1/2

1/R = 1/2

so R = 2 ohm this is total resistance of circuit

Now given V = 4 volt

so by ohm's law V = IR

I = V/R

so I = 4 / 2 = 2 ampere
