Two resistors of 5 ohm Each and a resistor R of unknown value are connected in series across a battery of 10v . If the voltage drop across the resistor R is 5v , find
1) the potential difference across 5 ohm resistor
2) the current through R
3) the equivalent resistance of the circuit
4) the heat produced in R in 10sec

(1) potential difference across 5 ohm resistor is 2.5 ohm.out of 10v ,5v is taken by resistor R and other two resistor are of same value so they will get 5v and each will get 2.5 v
(2)We know that
I=V/R
= 5/10=0.5 A
(3) equivalent resistance= R1+R2+R3=5+5+10=20 ohm
(4) Heat produced=I^2×R×T
= 0.5×0.5×10×10=25 joules
(2)We know that
I=V/R

(3) equivalent resistance= R1+R2+R3=5+5+10=20 ohm
(4) Heat produced=I^2×R×T
= 0.5×0.5×10×10=25 joules
