Answer:

The total series resistance R= R1 +R2 +Rn and so the total resistance is 18+6 ohms.

Note: There may be an additional internal resistance of the battery, assumed to be zero in this case)

Answer:

Given:

R₁=6Ω

R₂=18Ω

V = 3V

I₁=V/R₁

I₁=3V/6Ω

I₁= 0.5A

I₂=V/R₂

I₂=3V/18Ω

I₂=1/6A

Total I = I₁ + I₂

Total I = 0.5A + 1/6A

Total I = 0.6666A

Total I = 0.67A
