Given:

R_1=10\Omega,R_2=20\Omega

Potential difference,V=12 V

To find:

Power consumed by each resistor

Solution:

R_1=10\Omega

I=\frac{V}{R}

Using the formula

I_1=\frac{12}{10}=1.2A

R_2=20\Omega

I_2=\frac{12}{20}=0.6 A

Power,P=I^2R

Using the formula

P_1=I^2_1R_1=(1.2)^2(10)=14.4 W

P_2=I^2_2R_2=(0.6)^2\times 20=7.2 W
