Potential difference,V=12 V

To find:

Power consumed by each resistor

Solution:

$R_1=10\Omega$

$I=\frac{V}{R}$

Using the formula

$I_1=\frac{12}{10}=1.2A$

$R_2=20\Omega$

$I_2=\frac{12}{20}=0.6 A$

$Power,P=I^2R$

Using the formula

$P_1=I^2_1R_1=(1.2)^2(10)=14.4 W$

$P_2=I^2_2R_2=(0.6)^2\times 20=7.2 W$
