Here your answer

no.of sts. = x

total apples= 300

apple for each = 300/x

present no.of sts. = x+10

apples for each = 300/x+10

1 apple less

300/x - 300/x+10=1

final equation = x2+ 10x-3000=0

final.

ans = 50

no. of sts = 50

Let's assume the number of Children and number of Apples distributed to each child be C and A initially.

Now according to the equation
CxA =300 and........(i)

(C+10)(A-1)=300
CA+(10A-C)-10=300
300+10A-C)-10=300
10A-C=10..........(ii)

Now pairs which satisfies eq(i)
1x300
2x150
3x100
4x75
5x60
6x50
10x30
12x25
15x20

And among these pairs only (6,50) satisfies the equation (ii)

So, A =6, and C =50
