Two right circular cones of equal curved surface areas have slant heights in the ratio of 5 : 7. Find the ratio of their radii.

Answer = 7:5

L : L* = 5:7

Curved surface area of cone¹ = πrL

Curved surface area of cone² = πr¹L*

Therefore the ratio of their CSA

= CSA of Cone¹ : CSA of Cone² = πrL : πr¹L*

We know that both CSA of cones are equal,

Therefore

1:1 = πr(5) : πr¹(7)

r: r¹ = 7 : 5
