Two sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 4:3. If it's perimeter is 56 cm then, find the length of it's sides.

  • Ratio of sides of a parallelogram = 4:3
  • Perimeter = 56 cm
  • Perimeter of a parallelogram = 2(a +b)

Here,

a = Length

b = breadth

Their, ratio is given as 4:3

Then,

Perimeter = 2(a+b)

56 cm = 2 ( 4x + 3x)

56 cm = 2( 7x )

56 cm = 14 x

x = 56 ÷ 14

∴ x = 4 cm

Then,

⇒ Length = 4 x

⇒ Length = 4 × x

⇒ We know, x = 4 cm

⇒Length = 4 × 4

⇒Length = 16 cm

⇒Breadth = 3x

⇒Breadth = 3 × 4

⇒Breadth = 12 cm

The measurements required are;

  • Length = 16 cm

  • Breadth = 12 cm
