let one side of //gm=5X

other side of//gm=2X

Step-by-step explanation:

opp.sides of //gm are equal

so ist side=5X=3rd side

2nd side=4th side =2X

per.=sum of all sides

5X+2X+5X+2X=56

14X=56

X=4so longest side of//gm is 20 cm

Answer:

A parallelogram has opposite sides equal

therefore : the 4 sides are 5x, 2x, 5x and 2x

5x+2x+5x+2x=56cm

14x=56

x=56/14

x=4

The longest side of the parallelogram is clearly 5x (5>2)

side = 5x = 5*4 = 20cm

therefore longest side of parallelogram is 20 cm
