Answer:

a) 1/2

b) 1/2

Explanation:

a) total outcome is 2 and possible outcome for both odd is 1

probability of odd= possible results/ total outcome

= 1/2

b) total outcome is 2 and possible outcome for one odd and one even is 1

probability = possible results/ total outcome

= 1/2

(a). The probability that both show odd number = 1/6

(b). The probability of getting one number odd and one even = 1/6

• Probability that both show odd number = (probability to getting odd number from 1st box) * (probability to getting odd number from 2nd  box)

                     = (3/6) * (1/3)

                     = (1/3)

• From 2nd box only odd numbers can be selected then,

Probability of getting one number odd and one even = (probability to getting even number from 1st box) * (probability to getting odd number from 2nd  box)

                     = (3/6) * (1/3)

                     = (1/3)
