Two spheres each of mass 10 kg are 50 cm apart. What is the gravitational force between them?

answer : 2.668 × 10^-8 N

explanation : Two spheres each of mass 10kg are 50cm apart.

so, m_1=m_2=10kg

and r = 50cm = 0.5 m

from Newton's gravitational law,

F = \frac{Gm_1m_2}{r^2}

where G is gravitational constant.

i.e., G = 6.67 × 10^-11 Nm²/kg²

so, F = (6.67 × 10^-11 × 10 × 10)/(0.5)²

= (6.67 × 10^-9)/(0.25)

= 26.68 × 10^-9 N

= 2.668 × 10^-8 N

hence, gravitational force between them is 2.668 × 10^-8 N
