sum of perimeters = 100 cm
A/q
4x + 4(2x +1) = 100
⇒12x =100 -4
⇒12x =96
⇒x = 8
side of smaller square = 8 cm
side of bigger square = 17 cm

4x+4(2x+1) =100
4x+4x+4= 100
12x=96
x=8
2x+1=17
area=17 × 17=289 cm²
