The perimeter of the remaining  figure is 14 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Two squares of side 2 cm are cut out of a rectangle 10 cm by 5 cm.

To find : The perimeter of the remaining  figure ?

Solution :

The length of the rectangle is 10 cm.

The breadth of the rectangle is 5 cm.

Perimeter of the rectangle is P=2(l+b)

P=2(10+5)

P=2(15)

P=30\ cm

Side of first square is 2 cm.

Perimeter of square is P=4s

P=4(2)=8\ cm

Similarly, the perimeter of the second square is 8 cm.

Total perimeter of both square = 8+8=16 cm

Perimeter remaining = Perimeter of rectangle - Perimeter of square

Perimeter remaining = 30-16

Perimeter remaining = 14 cm
