C) Both (A) and (R) are correct and the reason forms the correct explanation of the assertion.

During the early decade of 1900, Russia was ruled by the Czar Nicholas II who was unpopular among masses. Due to various political, social, and economic reasons, Russian Revolution took place.

Russia as a socialistic state:

  • After the fall of Tsarists Russia due to the famous Russian revolution of 1918, the proletarians under the leadership of Lenin took the control of Russian empire.
  • Subsequently, all the industries and properties of the empire were nationalized, and formal establishment of the USSR took place as a Socialist state.

Thus, Bolsheviks aspired to transform Russian state into a socialist society based on Communist ideology.
